Scheduling processes were too inflexible, and communication was poor; much of open time was due to over-scheduling; proactive tracking and communication of open time allowed for more flexibility

Results:

  • Improved OR time utilization from 69% to 86%
  • Financial impact of $1.3 million (annualized)
