Engaged Team Performance at the Principal Financial Group®
At the Principal Financial Group®, in their Group Proposal Services department, IP led an Engaged Team Performance deployment, which started with process streamlining that drove 17% improvement in labor efficiency and subsequently gained another 24% from aligning the team performance with the process and customer. Cycle time was reduced from 2-3+ days to 24-hour turnaround and customer satisfaction in field distribution dramatically increased. Labor savings for the 27 people displaced to other roles was worth about $1.2 million per year, a 41% improvement in efficiency.
"Implementation Partners’ team led 12 projects for our division in 2006, with a return on investment over 18:1. Our projects have already delivered over $7 million in annualized impact to our bottom line. I’m a believer. "
~ Karsten Gebert, Principal Financial Group® — Des Moines, IA
“Our bank has operated in a silo fashion for some time where each department focused on their own tasks. While we achieved some efficiency improvements in individual processes, we never reviewed how processes impacted customers overall. The Engaged Team Performance effort, which we named “EZB” for our goal of becoming easier to do business with, has allowed us to review our process from start to finish and improve the communication among different departments.”
~ Art Bacci, President, Principal Bank — Des Moines, Iowa
Action Forum Workouts for Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E):
"Implementation Partners’ process has involved almost half of the employees… it’s saved or avoided over $300 million… and has a cost/benefit ratio of $124.50 saved for every dollar spent. To me that’s a pretty good investment."
~ Jim Eaneman, Pacific Gas & Electric — San Francisco, CA
