Client: A manufacturer of robotic medical devices

Opportunity: Led the program management effort for a client’s acquisition of a public company

Approach: Developed the client’s Integration Team and managed their work through a 12-week period before, during and after the acquisition, which included:

  • Creating a work breakdown structure, reporting requirements, and meeting cadence for the Integration and Executive Steering teams
  • Identifying potential risks and synergies, and then planning a comprehensive set of action items to execute the integration
  • Developing financial models for assessing the value of the various strategic options and enabling timely decision-making
  • Facilitating key events with the CEO and senior executive team to assess the value of opportunities and decide on future product and market strategy
  • Managing communications and close-date staffing change announcements on a very tough day

Results:

  • Executed the acquisition transaction on the target close date
  • Enabled aggressive product life cycle decisions that saved multiple millions of dollars in net margin over the next year
